Aaron Chow is Director of Crypto Product and Engineering & Principal Cryptographer at Scotiabank, a position he assumed in June 2025. In this role he leads the cryptography domain at Scotiabank, providing cryptographic expertise and governance. He also serves as co-chair of the Canadian Financial Institution Quantum Working Group and participates in additional industry quantum working groups.

Chow has held successive director-level roles at Scotiabank since 2021, including Director of Cloud Security Engineering Practice & Principal Cryptographer and, immediately prior to his current appointment, Director of Cloud Security Patterns and Policy as Code & Principal Cryptographer. He first joined Scotiabank in August 2018 as a Cryptographic Security Engineer, was promoted to Principal Cryptographer in February 2020, and reached director level in September 2021. Alongside his Scotiabank tenure, he has been a part-time faculty member at Georgian College since September 2021, where he teaches cryptography, and held a lecturer position at Ryerson University for a term in 2020. He has also worked as an IT Systems Engineer at Canaforce Security since 2008. Chow holds a PhD in number theory from the University of Toronto and has academic training in mathematics, economics, and statistics.
