Adam Głogowski

Adam Głogowski is Head of Digital Currency and Financial Innovation Division at Narodowy Bank Polski (NBP), a position he has held since November 2021. Based in Warsaw, he leads the unit within the Payment System Department responsible for analysing financial innovations and their impact on systemic risk and the broader financial system, as well as conducting analytical work on central bank digital currency (CBDC). He is a member of the OECD Expert Group on Finance and Digitalisation and the ESRB Task Force on Crypto-assets and DeFi.

Głogowski is an economist with a focus on financial stability analysis, macrofinancial risk and policy, macro stress testing frameworks and models, and cryptoasset regulation. His career at NBP spans over 19 years. Prior to his current role, he served as Advisor and Head of Financial Innovation Division from November 2019 to November 2021, and as Deputy Director of the Financial Innovation Department from July 2018 to November 2019. Before moving into financial innovation, he spent nearly four years as Advisor and Head of Systemic Risk Assessment Division within the Financial Stability Department, and held earlier advisory and economist roles within the same department dating back to 2002. In 2005, he served as a volunteer consultant with the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, a non-profit focused on strengthening financial sectors in developing countries. His published research includes a 2008 NBP Working Paper examining macroeconomic determinants of Polish banks' loan losses using panel data methods, which incorporated stress testing conducted with NBP's macroeconomic model.
