Alejandro Estevez-Breton

Alejandro Estevez-Breton is SVP, Chief Fixed Income & Digital Assets Strategist at Itaú Private Bank International, a position he has held since September 2019. His mandate covers US interest rates, credit risks, and digital assets within the private banking investment management process, including client engagement and portfolio investment direction. He began exploring cryptocurrencies and digital assets in 2020, and his role has since incorporated digital assets alongside his fixed income and FX responsibilities.

Prior to joining Itaú, Estevez-Breton served as Senior Director at Abbott from November 2015 to August 2019, where he built an interest rate and credit platform to monitor global rates and emerging market sovereign credit risks in support of corporate treasury and senior management. He also contributed to the pensions department's monthly investment outlook meetings, supported foreign exchange hedging strategy across approximately 20 developed and emerging market currencies, and helped shape macro forecasts with a primary focus on Latin America. Before Abbott, he managed macro research and strategy teams at Santander Investment Securities. He holds over 25 years of experience across economics, fixed income, and FX strategy. His academic background includes an executive education program completed at the Inter-American Development Bank and Columbia University.
