Dmitry Kirillov is Head of DeFi Division at Sber Blockchain Lab at Sberbank, a position he has held since September 2023. In this role, he explores decentralized finance innovations and guides traditional institutions in adopting blockchain across public and private networks. His stated focus areas include asset tokenization frameworks, hybrid smart contracts, scalable cross-border payment solutions, regulatory challenges, and interoperability between legacy finance and Web3.

Kirillov has worked as a Blockchain Analyst since September 2014, a period during which he began studying distributed ledger technologies. In 2017, following studies at MGIMO, he became a member of the expert council of the State Duma on legislative support for financial technology development in Russia. He ran a Telegram channel, @exCryptoDuma, from 2017 to 2019, covering central bank experiments with CBDC, and has operated a second channel, @DaoDimburInfo, since 2020, focused on the DeFi sector. In early 2021, an article on the principles of DAO operations was published in the bulletin of the Financial University. In the first half of 2022, he produced and published a free educational course on blockchain technologies, DeFi, and NFTs. Prior to joining Sberbank, he served as Head of the Business Development Department of the Public Finance Department at SMP Bank from October 2016 to September 2023, where he was involved in regional and municipal lending. He holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the Financial University and an MBA in Investment Management from the Higher School of Economics.
