André Mooij is Design Lead, Crypto at Nubank, a position he has held since December 2024. Based in Mexico City, his current mandate sits at the intersection of design and crypto at the company. Prior to this role, he served as Design Manager at Nubank from January 2022 to November 2024, and before that held a progression of product design roles at the company beginning in May 2019, including Sr. Staff Product Designer and Staff Product Designer.

Before joining Nubank, Mooij worked as a Senior Designer on an Apple partnership at Accenture in the San Francisco Bay Area from September 2016 to February 2019. Earlier, he was Art Director at Menosunocerouno in Monterrey, Mexico, and held teaching and advisory roles at CEDIM México in 2015, including Professor of Typography and Visiting Adviser for senior graphic design thesis projects. His professional background is rooted in digital product design, visual identities, and visual research. He maintains a presence on Farcaster under the handle andremooij, active since June 2025.

Michael Rihani

Senior Director of Product Head of Crypto

Michael Rihani is Senior Director, Head of Crypto at Nubank, a position he assumed in September 2025. He leads a global team spanning product, engineering, design, data, and operations, and holds ownership of the vision, strategy, roadmap, execution, budget, and full P&L for Nubank Crypto — a platform enabling users to buy, sell, and store crypto assets within the Nubank app, which has reached 6.6 million users. He reports to Thomaz Fortes, executive director of the crypto and digital assets area at Nubank.

Prior to Nubank, Rihani served as Director of Product at Coinbase, where he led the Cash, Cards, Transfers, and Payments businesses and launched products including Bitcoin-Backed Loans, the Coinbase One Card, and a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. Before that, he spent three years as Director of Product for Bitcoin at Cash App, where he launched Cash App's Lightning Network and Block's Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. Earlier in his career, he managed the Tesla Supercharging product and technology team and contributed to integrating bitcoin payments on Tesla.com. At Apple, he worked on Apple Pay on the Web, Apple Card, and Apple Cash. He co-founded Koofers.com, a social network for college students that was acquired in 2014, and is the author of Streaming Money: How Native Currency For The Internet Will Reinvent The Web. Rihani holds degrees in Computer Science and Business Information Technology from Stanford University, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Institute of Technology.
