Christian Wolf

Christian Wolf is Head of Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystems, Group Strategy & Innovation at Raiffeisen Bank International AG, a position he has held since May 2020 and is based in Vienna. In this role he advises the Group Board of Management on how technologies including AI, blockchain, and digital assets reshape financial services. He holds a voting seat on the firm's AI Committee and serves on the supervisory board of Qivalis, a European banking consortium building EUR-denominated stablecoin infrastructure. He manages ElevatorLab and RBI's Fintech Scouts initiative, described as CEE's largest fintech partnership program, comprising 40+ strategic collaborations across 11 markets.

His digital asset work has included securing multi-level board approvals to establish two digital asset subsidiaries across EU and non-EU jurisdictions, designing a regulatory compliance pathway for MiCAR, and architecting a multi-product platform strategy covering crypto services, tokenized assets, and stablecoins. He has also established a group-wide AI governance framework across RBI's 11-market footprint and is responsible for translating regulatory frameworks including PSD2/3, eIDAS, PSR, FIDA, and MiCAR into strategic business positioning. Prior to his current role, he held positions at RBI as Head of Group Transformation, Head of Digital Roadmap & Projects — a role he was publicly identified in as early as 2018 — and Head of Retail & SME. Before joining RBI he held leadership roles at banking groups in Germany and Switzerland. He holds a PhD in Business Economics and has completed executive education at MIT, Stanford, Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and LSE.
