Christoph Hock

Christoph Hock is Head of Tokenisation & Digital Assets at Union Investment, a position he has held since January 2024. In this role, he drives the development and expansion of Union Investment's digital asset strategy in combination with digital payment mechanisms, both within the portfolio management business unit and across the company's entire value chain. He coordinates all portfolio management activities related to tokenisation and digital assets, represents the portfolio management business unit in Union Investment's Blockchain Steering Committee, and reports directly to the Executive Board member responsible for portfolio management. Externally, he serves as Chair of the EFAMA Tokenisation Task Force, holds a board position at ICMA where he chairs the ICMA DLT Bonds Working Group, and sits on the ECB Pontes Market Contact Group. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Eurex Exchange Council.

Prior to his current role, Hock spent nearly ten years at Union Investment as Managing Director and Head of Multi-Asset Trading, from April 2014 to March 2024, where he consolidated the equities, derivatives, fixed income, and FX trading teams under a single multi-asset desk. Before joining Union Investment, he was Director and Head of Equity Execution Sales at Barclays Bank's Frankfurt branch. Earlier in his career, he was a founder, partner, and Co-CEO responsible for portfolio management and trading at Tungsten Capital Management, a hedge fund. Prior to that he was Co-CEO and Head of Portfolio Management and Trading at Ferox Capital Management. He began his career at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, then held roles at J.P. Morgan Securities including Head of European Basket Trading and Head of the Relative Value Proprietary Desk in the Equity Derivatives Group. Hock holds a bachelor's degree in banking and an MBA from St Galler Business School, obtained in 2022.
