Ciaran McMullan

Ciaran McMullan is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Southwest Heritage Bank, a community bank operating across Arizona and New Mexico with locations in Tucson, Scottsdale, Green Valley, Alamogordo, and Las Cruces. He also serves as a Board Member of Blue Ridge Bankshares and as an Advisor to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.

McMullan has held multiple CEO roles in the U.S. community and regional banking sector. He was most recently President and CEO of Suncrest Bank in California prior to its sale in 2022, during which the bank was ranked among the Top 100 Performing Community Banks by S&P Global, placing 6th in California. Earlier, he served as Chief Executive Officer of National Australia Bank's U.S. Regional Bank, based in Chicago, where he led multiple acquisitions including Great Western Bank, and as Chairman of Great Western Bancorporation SD. Additional past roles include Senior Advisor with Cappello Capital, a boutique investment bank in Los Angeles, and Banking Partner with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Following the Suncrest sale, he consulted with financial technology companies, banks, and industry associations on topics including market entry strategy, acquisitions, capital raising, financial technology, decentralized finance, and regulatory strategy. He was one of the founders of the Greater Sacramento region's Fintech Consortium and has served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council. McMullan began his career as a Market Analyst with Abbey National Bank in London. He holds degrees from the University of Stirling and Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, has completed Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School in FinTech and Agribusiness, and holds a certification in Decentralized Finance from Duke University.
