David O'Connor

David O'Connor is Managing Director, FX/Digital Assets OTC Trading at Dinosaur Financial Group, LLC, a position he has held since June 2024. In this role, he is responsible for FX and digital assets over-the-counter trading, with a stated focus on best execution and liquidity in OTC digital currency products. His appointment was part of Dinosaur Financial Group's effort to expand its presence in digital assets trading. Dinosaur Financial Group is the parent company of FINRA-regulated institutional brokerage firm Dinosaur Financial Group, LLC, FCA-regulated Dinosaur Merchant Bank Limited, and SEC-registered investment firm DCM Advisors, LLC, offering brokerage, financing, and advisory services across equities, fixed income, commodities, derivatives, and investment management.

Prior to joining Dinosaur Financial Group, O'Connor served concurrently as Managing Director at Marex from April 2021. Before that, he was an FX Sales Trader at XP Investimentos from January 2020 to February 2021, where he was part of a five-person team focused on FX and rates, onboarding international hedge funds and executing spot, forward, and derivative transactions. His earlier career included a Managing Director role at Guggenheim Securities, where he served as Head of Finance and Accounting for the Sales and Trading Division from January 2013 to January 2025, functioning as Divisional CFO with responsibility for financial control, reporting, and business support. He also held Managing Director and Director-level controller roles at Bear Stearns, including Global Controller for Investment Banking from 2004 to 2009 and European Controller from 2000 to 2004. His total professional experience spans approximately 30 years in financial services, with a background spanning FX trading, digital assets, and financial control functions across major institutional firms.
