Dr. Karin Lorez

Dr. Karin Lorez is CEO at scale-compliance and founder of both Scale Compliance, a payment and compliance service provider for the crypto industry, and Lorez Legal, a legal boutique. She also serves as legal counsel to Qubic, a role she assumed in August 2024.

Lorez has over 15 years of experience in financial markets, cryptocurrency, and blockchain regulation. She advised the first bank to offer crypto assets in 2017, serving in that capacity as in-house counsel. She has since advised blockchain startups and banks operating in the space and led regulatory efforts for a major private bank. As an AML/KYC specialist, she lectures at the University of Zurich and other institutions on blockchain and financial market law.
