Frédérick Lacroix is a Partner at Clifford Chance, heading the financial services and asset management practice in Paris. He advises on EU and French banking and investment services regulatory matters, including regulatory capital, asset management and funds, insurance investment regulations, clearing and settlement, financial and securities litigations, e-money and payment services, and financial institution M&A, restructuring and resolution. He also co-heads the structured finance and debt practice in Paris, advising financial institutions and corporates on structured finance, capital market and derivative products, with particular experience in cash and synthetic securitisations. He advises fintech clients on financial regulatory issues relating to investment advice, asset management, payment services and banking. Lacroix is ranked Band 1 for Financial Services Regulation in France by Chambers and is cited for expertise in prudential regulations, investment services and distribution agreements, as well as fintech platform launches. He is an active contributor to legal reviews and publications and is regularly consulted on the drafting of financial sector legislation, including chairing a working group for the Haut Comité Juridique de la Place financière de Paris that produced a report on the revision of the Payment Services Directive 2 in September 2023.

Lacroix began his career at Crédit Lyonnais in Paris within the Securitisation Group in 1996, followed by a position at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris from 1997. He was admitted as an avocat in Paris in 1998, joined Clifford Chance in 2003, became Counsel in 2005, and was made Partner in 2009. He holds a Diploma in Finance from Institut Supérieur de Gestion (1992), a Master in Private Law and a Diploma in Business Law from the University of Panthéon-Assas and Institut de Droit des Affaires (1995), a postgraduate degree in Business Law from Panthéon-Assas (1996), and a postgraduate degree in Management Sciences from University Paris XII and Ecole Centrale Paris (1996).
