Joachim Lauterbach

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Joachim Lauterbach is CEO of WM Gruppe, Germany's leading reference data provider for capital markets and publisher of Börsen-Zeitung, Germany's leading daily newspaper for capital markets. He assumed the CEO role on 1 July 2025, having previously served as Chairman of the Advisory Board (Beiratsvorsitzender) for the two preceding years. In that prior capacity he worked closely with the management team on strategic direction, with a focus on technical innovation, customer orientation, and data-driven growth. As CEO, he holds responsibility for the strategic development of WM Gruppe across product, customer, and market dimensions, as well as editorial oversight of Börsen-Zeitung.

Lauterbach's career spans more than 35 years in market data, technology, and the financial industry. Immediately before joining WM Gruppe's advisory board, he served as CEO of valantic FSA, a provider of automation and trading technology for capital markets, a position he held from January 2018 to June 2025. Prior roles include CEO of Interactive Data Managed Solutions (IDMS) AG and CEO for Central and Eastern Europe at Computer Science Corporation (CSC, now DXC). Earlier in his career he held executive positions at VWD, Reuters, Thomson Financial, and Capco. He studied at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Alongside his executive role, he is a lecturer at Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, where he teaches negotiation skills to students and founders, and holds a certification as an Advanced Business Negotiator. He is also active as a business angel in the technology and health sectors and describes himself as an impact investor.
