Karima Lachgar

Karima Lachgar is CEO of Olky Wallet and Head of Group Legal & Regulatory Strategy at OlkyPay, a role she has held since September 2023. She also serves as a member of the Olky Group Executive Committee. The Olky Group operates across the payment and crypto sectors through several entities including Olky Pay, Nun-Tech, and Olky Wallet.

Prior to joining Olky Group, Lachgar was a partner at Osborne Clarke, where she led the Bank-Finance, Fintech and Crypto practice. Before that, she was co-head of the blockchain and crypto practice at CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats, a role she took on in 2018. Earlier in her career, she served as Managing Director of the French Association of Custodians and Financial Market Infrastructures (AFTI) and began her career as a lobbyist at Euralia. Her professional focus spans EU financial markets regulation, blockchain, distributed ledger technologies, ICOs, and cryptocurrencies, with specific technical grounding in MiFID II, MiFIR, CSDR, EMIR, UCITS IV, UCITS V, and AIFMD. She holds committee memberships including Co-Chair of the Paris Europlace working group on cryptoassets taxation and membership of the AFG working group on cryptoassets. She was a ranked lawyer in Legal 500, Chambers and Partners Fintech Guide, and Décideurs. She is admitted to the Hauts-de-Seine Bar. Her academic background includes degrees from Paris X, Paris I, London South Bank University, and Paris Mines Tech.
