Karine Arama

Karine Arama is a Partner at SGH Capital, a venture capital and private equity firm headquartered in Luxembourg that deploys capital into early- and mid-stage companies focused on AI, Robotics, and Blockchain technology across the US and EMEA. She has held this role since January 2021. At SGH Capital, she is involved in backing early-stage to pre-IPO companies operating in Blockchain, AI, Space, and Humanoid Robotics, and has spoken publicly on venture capital methodology, funding, valuation cycles, and emerging global technology trends.

In parallel, since January 2022, Arama has served as Board Member VP of DeFi at Blockchain Innov, a French nonprofit association that promotes the uses and innovations of blockchain, crypto assets, tokens, tokenization, Web3, NFTs, and metaverses. Prior to her current roles, she was Chief Operating Officer and Head of Investor Relations at Starname from January 2018 to June 2020, a blockchain-based personalised identity provider enabling cross-chain payments and asset storage. Before entering the blockchain sector, she spent approximately 20 years in investment banking, including a role as Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions Rates Sales for APAC at RBS International from 2006 to 2015, based in Singapore. She also held positions in fixed income sales at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, working across Paris, London, and Singapore. Between 2015 and 2021, she founded and ran Train with Kay, a fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle remote coaching business based in Singapore.
