Kenneth Bok is Venture Building Lead, Digital Assets at SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, where he supports the development of SC Ventures' digital asset portfolio companies across business development, partnerships, and strategy.

Bok is the author of Decentralizing Finance (Wiley, 2024), a practitioner's guide to stablecoins, DeFi, and digital asset infrastructure. Prior to SC Ventures, he founded Blocks Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based digital assets advisory firm serving financial institutions and startups, where he served as Managing Director from 2017 to 2024. He also served as Head of Growth Strategy at Zilliqa, a blockchain technology company, where he led market expansion, business development, and partnerships across Southeast Asia. Earlier in his career, he traded equities and derivatives at Goldman Sachs in Europe. He has been an investor in digital assets since 2014, including participation in the Ethereum crowdsale, with early-stage positions in Layer 1 blockchains such as Ethereum, Cosmos, and Tezos. He is also an angel investor in web3 startups. Bok is a regular speaker at technology and digital finance conferences and has been quoted in outlets including CNBC, Euromoney, CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, and the South China Morning Post. He holds an M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College and an M.A. in Philosophy from CIIS.

Member & Chief Compliance Officer

Esme Hodson is Member Chief Compliance Officer at SC Ventures | Standard Chartered, based in Singapore, a position she has held since May 2021. Her focus spans compliance, digital assets, and financial crime compliance within SC Ventures, Standard Chartered's business unit dedicated to innovation and disruptive financial technology.

Beyond her role at SC Ventures, Hodson serves as Co-Chair of the Wolfsberg Group's Virtual Asset Service Provider Working Group, a position she has held since September 2022. The Wolfsberg Group is an association of 12 global banks focused on developing frameworks for managing financial crime risks. She is also a Teaching Faculty member in Digital Assets at the Wealth Management Institute in Singapore, a role she assumed in May 2025. Hodson holds a Fellowship with the International Compliance Association, awarded in August 2022, an organisation representing the global regulatory and financial crime compliance community.
