Ludovic Copéré

Ludovic Copéré is Senior Investment Director, Sony Ventures at Sony Innovation Fund, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, a position he has held since July 2016. Sony Innovation Fund is the venture capital arm of Sony Group Corporation, focused on early-stage and growth-stage companies. Copéré has been a core member of the fund since its inception and leads startup scouting, due diligence, investment execution, and portfolio management across focus areas including Mobility, FinTech, InsurTech, web3, PropTech, Drones, FoodTech, AgTech, and Environment.

His involvement in digital assets and blockchain is reflected in web3 as a named investment vertical within his mandate. Named portfolio investments he has led include Arkose Labs, Truepic, Covr, Superpedestrian, Token, Cruz Foam, Iris Automation, Matternet, Delos, Sight Machine, Ridecell, Miles, Magic Cube, Botrista, Analytical Flavor Systems, Plunk, Sentera, and Waffle, alongside undisclosed positions. Prior to his current role, he was based at Sony's global headquarters in Tokyo, where he conducted strategic assessments, mid- and long-term technology perspectives, and financial valuations related to Sony's Intellectual Property. Before Tokyo, he worked as a Corporate Strategist across London, New York, and Paris, covering Sony's Electronics, Gaming, Content, Financial Services, Telecommunications, and B2B activities. His total professional experience spans 24 years. Copéré holds an MSc in Information and Communication Technology from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden and an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from the École Centrale in France. He is a French native with proficiency in English, French, Swedish, and Spanish, and working knowledge of Japanese.
