Mads Clemmensen

Mads Clemmensen is Head of Digital Assets at Danske Bank, a position he assumed in February 2026. Prior to this, he served as Digital Assets Lead at the same institution from March 2023 to February 2026. His engagement with digital assets and distributed ledger technology at Danske Bank dates to February 2019, when he joined as Lead Blockchain Specialist and Senior Business Analyst. In that role, he acted as principal subject matter expert in digital assets, cryptocurrencies, and DLT/blockchain technology, managed third-party vendors and partnerships, led project management and strategic positioning of blockchain and DLT initiatives, and represented Danske Bank and Finance Denmark in industry bodies and working groups.

Before moving into the blockchain specialism, Clemmensen completed Danske Bank's Business Innovation graduate programme between August 2017 and February 2019, rotating across Market Operations (custody and settlement operations), Investor Services Sales (custody products for institutional clients), and the Group IT/CIO Office (technology and innovation). Earlier in his career he worked as a web developer, web designer, and business analyst at Økodruen ApS from January 2015 to August 2017, and held an assistant teacher and lecturer position at IT University of Copenhagen from January 2016 to June 2017, teaching courses on digital technology and new business models, and media and communication theory. He holds a Master of Science in Digital Innovation and Management from IT University of Copenhagen, completed in 2017, with a specialisation in Process Innovation and New Business Models.
