Maximillian Jungreis

Maximillian Jungreis is Head of Crypto & Digital Assets at Plug and Play Tech Center, a position he has held since January 2022. In this role he leads global blockchain innovation partnerships across 40 countries. Prior to this title, he served as Crypto Lead at Plug and Play from 2021 to 2022, and built the crypto vertical from scratch, securing corporate partners including Visa and Franklin Templeton before hiring a team.

Before joining Plug and Play, Jungreis served as Head of Strategic Partnerships at Yosemite X from 2017 to 2020, where he co-founded Yosemite Card, a consumer-facing payment processing solution built on a blockchain consensus mechanism. He also built what is described as the largest government use case of blockchain globally, reaching over 42 million users through a front-facing application called Coov, while advising Blockchain Labs (formerly Yosemite X). From 2019 to 2021, he was a co-founding member of the Stanford Future of Digital Currency Initiative, a multidisciplinary research initiative focused on digital currency standards for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), housed within Stanford's Center for Blockchain Research. He holds a concurrent role as Partner at Predictive VC, a venture firm supporting domain expert founders, and serves as a Mentor through a Plug and Play partnership with Madrid in Game. Jungreis studied Chinese and International Business at George Washington University and attended Tsinghua University. Earlier in his career he worked at Shenzhen Capital Group, China's largest VC firm at the time. He is a first-generation Colombian-American and became proficient in Mandarin after moving to China at age 16.
