Moritz Platt is a Capital Markets Technology Manager at Google, based in Berlin, where he designs and builds cloud-native digital platforms for the financial sector. His work focuses on applying Web3 technology to meet the needs of financial institutions, including the market integration of the Google Cloud Universal Ledger to address payments and settlement in regulated industries. He has been active as an advisor in enterprise blockchain since 2018.

Alongside his industry role, Platt is a Visiting Research Fellow at King's College London, a position he began in March 2026, where he investigates the security and resilience of decentralised systems, with a particular focus on identity manipulation in critical digital infrastructure. He also serves on the advisory board of StageBlock Studio, consulting on digital asset architecture for the authentication and preservation of visual art through tokenisation. His academic work centres on identity-based consensus protocols and Sybil attack resistance in decentralised systems. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from King's College London, completed under the supervision of Prof. Peter McBurney, with a thesis on reputation-based consensus in decentralised systems. His earlier studies were completed at TU Berlin and Birkbeck, University of London. His published research includes work on blockchain consensus mechanisms, the energy footprint of consensus protocols, and the influence of energy labelling on cryptocurrency investment behaviour.
