Nicholas Watts

Nicholas Watts is Managing Director, Financials, Capital Markets and Crypto Research at Rothschild & Co Redburn (operating as Redburn Atlantic), based in London, a position he has held since July 2016. His research mandate spans financial sector equities, capital markets, and crypto, making him one of the few sell-side analysts with an explicitly stated crypto research remit within his institutional role.

Watts re-joined Redburn Atlantic from Barclays Investment Bank, where from December 2013 to July 2016 he served as Principal covering African Banks and Financials Equity Research, based in South Africa. Prior to Barclays, he spent six years at Redburn Atlantic as an Analyst covering European Investment Banks and Diversified Financials. He began his City career at Citigroup, where he worked as a Vice President in UK Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Stockbroking from June 2000 to March 2006. Earlier in his career he was a Manager at Ernst & Young in South Africa from January 1995 to May 2000. He is a chartered accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge.
