Patrick Witt is Executive Director of the President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets at The White House, where he leads efforts to develop and coordinate national policy on digital asset innovation, regulation, and emerging financial technologies. He took over the role following the departure of Bo Hines, his predecessor, and serves as the chief industry liaison for Trump's White House on crypto matters, with the council having recently passed stablecoin legislation and moving toward broader U.S. crypto market regulation.

Witt concurrently serves as Acting Director of the Office of Strategic Capital within the Department of Defense, where he directs $200 billion of investment into the U.S. military's defense industrial base. From January until May 2025, he performed the duties of Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, overseeing the defense science and technology enterprise including DARPA. He also serves as an Attorney in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the Georgia Army National Guard. During Trump's first administration, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. After leaving that role, he served as Managing Director for a lower-middle-market private equity firm. Earlier in his career, he spent approximately three years at McKinsey & Company, advising aviation, aerospace, and defense clients. Witt is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School and received the Francis Gordon Brown Prize among other academic accolades. He had a brief career as a free-agent quarterback for the New Orleans Saints following his time leading the Yale Bulldogs.
