Peter Left is Head of Digital and Markets Innovation at Lloyds Banking Group, where he works to ensure regulated money and assets benefit from the latest technologies. Left has over 20 years of financial markets experience at Lloyds Banking Group, having begun his career structuring and trading derivative solutions. He subsequently moved to managing balance sheet costs of derivatives, then ran Money Market and Repo Sales and Trading before moving to Treasury, where he managed Funding and Liquidity for the Ring-fenced Bank group. From that position he led the bank's thinking on Digital Money and Assets, leading to his current role. He holds the CertBALM® certification from the UK Asset and Liability Management Association, issued in January 2021, and has contributed to industry publications including a Q&A on collateral optimisation for FTSE Global Markets.

He has been publicly involved in Lloyds' engagement with the LSEG Digital Securities Depository, which is building a DLT-enabled solution to connect traditional and digital markets. He has also promoted Lloyds' work on blockchain-based international payments, enabling instant transfers where sender and receiver see the same information simultaneously.
