Ricardo A.

Ricardo A. is Digital Assets Trading (Executive Director) at BTG Pactual, a position he has held since January 2022. In this role, he focuses on digital assets trading technology strategy, manages a trading portfolio spanning spot, derivatives, and DeFi, and builds analytical tools drawing on on-chain and off-chain data. He is also involved in scaling BTG Pactual's crypto exchange, Mynt, alongside liquidity and working capital optimization and strategic analytics.

Prior to his current role, Ricardo served as IT International Director at BTG Pactual from August 2017 to January 2022, acting as CTO for BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group and BTG Pactual Broker Dealer US. During that period he coordinated technology budgets between the US and Brazil, managed Azure cloud infrastructure migration, and drove digital assets strategies focused on cryptocurrency mining. Before that, from January 2013 to August 2017, he led the Financial Platforms team as Head of Cross Assets Platforms, overseeing teams in the UK and Brazil, managing a Calypso Front-to-Back implementation, and directing post-trading platform integration with BM&FBovespa. He joined BTG Pactual in 2003 and held senior analyst and IT project manager roles before progressing to Associate Director. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2007), an MBA in Business Management from Ibmec (2008–2010), and a Certificate of Business Excellence in Blockchain: Technologies and Applications for Business from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business (2020). He also holds Certified DeFi Expert™ and Certified Cryptocurrency Trader certifications from the Blockchain Council (2023).
