Tansaya Kunaratskul is a Financial Sector Expert (Central Bank Digital Currency) at the International Monetary Fund, based in Washington, D.C., a position she has held since October 2022. Her work sits within the Money and Capital Markets department, focused on central bank digital currency.

Prior to joining the IMF, Kunaratskul served as a Senior Specialist at the Bank of Thailand, where she developed strategic directions and policy recommendations on digital finance and payments. In that role, she oversaw the Bank of Thailand's CBDC projects, covering both cross-border wholesale CBDC and retail CBDC. She co-authored a policy direction paper titled "The Way Forward for Retail CBDC in Thailand," which sets out a policy direction on retail CBDC and provides preliminary analysis on its implications and design within Thailand's context. In October 2019, she participated in an IDEO Makethon at IDEO CoLab in Cambridge, applying IDEO Design Thinking methodology. Her total professional experience spans 12 years.
