Head of Blockchain and Digital Assets, Senior Managing Director
David Fragale is Senior Managing Director, Blockchain & Digital Assets at Western Alliance Bank, where he leads the bank's Blockchain & Digital Assets business line, counsels clients on emerging technologies in this area, and develops product innovations. He joined Western Alliance in early 2022.
Prior to this role, Fragale held C-level positions at venture-backed blockchain companies, including co-founding Atonomi, a blockchain-based security protocol for IoT devices, where he served as Chief Product Officer. He was a key leader in blockchain projects at PwC and served as a Finance professor in blockchain at West Virginia University. He has lectured at MIT, Northeastern University, and the CFA Institute, and has advised the U.S. Intelligence Community on national security risks associated with cryptocurrencies. He has also served as an advisor to early-stage blockchain companies and to the American Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Association in Washington, DC. In 2014, he was appointed an MIT Sloan Fellow in Innovation and Global Leadership, focusing on emerging technologies including cryptocurrency and blockchain. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from West Virginia University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
