Zahra AlA'Ali is Head – Crypto and Digital Assets at the Central Bank of Bahrain, a position she assumed in July 2025. In this role she leads the CBB's crypto and digital assets function. She previously served as Head of Crypto Assets Market from January 2024, having first taken on the role in an acting capacity from May 2023, and before that as Superintendent of Crypto Assets Market from January 2023. Her involvement in the crypto assets space at the CBB therefore spans from early 2023 to the present, with progressively senior mandates across that period.

Prior to her focus on crypto assets, AlA'Ali worked within the CBB's Capital Markets Supervision department as a Senior Analyst from January 2021 to January 2023, and as an Analyst from October 2019. Before joining the CBB, she spent nearly five years at Grant Thornton Bahrain as an Audit Supervisor, covering finance and accounting functions. Earlier in her career she held an Operations Administrator role at MAF Dalkia Middle East in Bahrain. Her total professional experience spans approximately 12 years and 6 months.
