Akash Daryanani

Akash Daryanani is VP Digital Assets Product Project Manager at Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, based in Madrid, Spain, a role he has held since June 2025. Earlier at BBVA he contributed to the Receivables Purchase Program, which grew to €31B in outstanding advances over five years, and developed a Dynamic Pricing engine used across corporate and investment banking clients. Luis Nacarino

Executive Director - Crypto & Digital Assets Unit, Santander Corporate & Investment Banking

Luis Nacarino is Executive Director, Crypto Digital Assets Unit, Santander Corporate & Investment Banking at Banco Santander, a position he has held since March 2022. He holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Madrid Polytechnic University and a Master's degree in software systems and telecommunications from ENST Bretagne in France.

Mónica Martinez

Head of Legal Crypto & Digital Assets Unit

Mónica Martínez is Head of Legal Crypto & Digital Assets Unit at Banco Santander S.A., a position she has held since January 2019 and based at the Madrid headquarters. Her stated mandate covers digital assets, digital securities, digital cash, crypto, central bank digital currencies (CBDC), and crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs).

Before taking on the crypto and digital assets role, Martínez served as Responsible for Securitisations and Regulatory Implementation at Banco Santander from July 2015 to December 2020, a period that overlapped with her current position. Prior to that, she was Senior Legal Counsel and head of the Derivatives and Structured Finance team at Santander Bank, N.A. in Boston from July 2013 to July 2015, where her work covered derivatives, project finance, banking regulation, and Dodd-Frank compliance. From February 2004 to June 2013, she held a Senior Legal Counsel role at Banco Santander in Madrid, responsible for master agreements across ISDA, CMOF, EMA, GMRA, GMSLA, FBF, and DRV frameworks, as well as documentation for FX and rates structured transactions. Earlier in her career, she worked as a broker at All Trading Brokers Europe, S.A. from 1995 to 2001, covering interbank money markets, and subsequently at AT Equities from 2001 to 2003, executing trades in regulated markets across the EU and USA. Her professional history also includes a period at IBM between June 1990 and January 1994. Total recorded professional experience spans over 33 years.
