Director, Head of Digital Currency Planning Group
Hidemitsu Izawa is Director, Head of Digital Currency Planning Group at the Bank of Japan, a role he has held since June 2022, based in Tokyo. In this capacity, he leads the Bank of Japan's digital currency planning function within its General Management department.
Izawa holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Columbia University in the City of New York (2007–2009), a Master's degree in Precision Engineering with a focus on Robotics from the University of Tokyo (2001–2003), and a Bachelor's degree in Theoretical Physics from Keio University (1997–2001). He holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, issued in March 2019.
