JD Sanchez

JD Sanchez is Manager, Innovation at CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, where he leads AI-driven claims transformation. His work centers on connecting technologists and subject-matter experts to build AI solutions within the organization, with a focus on human accountability and transparency in generative AI applications. He created personas representing different AI agent use cases to illustrate responsible AI use internally, and applies AI across daily professional tasks including emails, SQL queries, and presentations.

Sanchez was named to the 2025 Class of Emerging Leaders by the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, the Insurance Careers Movement, and AM Best, recognized at their February 2025 conference in Tampa, Florida. He also received the Technology Leadership award from that program for his work in AI and his positioning of CSAA at the forefront of the industry. He was initially skeptical of AI before becoming a regular user after experimenting with it for a business planning exercise. He has spoken publicly about the significance of subject-matter expertise and effective prompting as foundations for building meaningful AI solutions.
